[cisco-voip] PRI Volume issues - Cablelength

PSTN --- PRI --- NEC PBX --- PRI --- Voice Gateway --- IP Phones

 

In the above scenario, calls between the PSTN and IP Phones have volume
issues.  Both IP Phones and PSTN Phones complain volume is too low.  

 

Voice gateway has setting of:

Input gain 2

Output attenuation -3

Echo-cancel coverage 24ms

 

If I change input to 3, or output to -4, we get echo.

 

I have come across the cablelength short and long commands.  Any idea if
adjusting this will help volume? The gateway is ~600ft away from the
PBX.
