Yes, I remember now seeing the post from Wes.
We are running 5.1.3 so I have to work with a hidden column. Now what is a
hidden column and how you select it? Is this field changes for any change on
a record?

There was a post from Wes a few days ago.
In v. 4 (windows based) the guid contains a timestamp of the creation
date. Have a look through the archive for more details or I can see if I
still have his email somewhere.
On v.5.x unfortunately there only is a field for last touch (cdrtime
which is a hidden column) which is useful to check for pwd changes e.g.
(if not ldap integrated)
