[cisco-voip] Synchronizing phones with a Domain Controller's time

Hello,

Use XNTP to do this. It comes installed on the server by default. Basically:

1. Go into the xntp.conf (or something like that) file in c:windows\system32\drivers\etc.

2. Setup the time servers there.

3. Disable the Windows Time service.

4. Make sure the Network Time Service is enabled. Stop that service.

5. Open a command prompt and go to c:\program files\cisco\xntp and run ntpdate and the ip of the server (ntpdate 10.100.100.10 for example). Just wait for this to complete.

6. Start the Network Time service.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Synchronizing phones with a Domain Controller's time

Hi,

My Call Manager 4.1.3 with about 150 Cisco 7912/7940/7960 phones time is always different from the PC times. My domain controller updates hourly for it’s time, but I want to synch call manager to update to the domain controller so they are consistent. Any idea’s on how to accomplish this. CM is on windows 2000 Server.

Thanks in advance,

Michael M
