[cisco-voip] Quick Question About the "Directories" Listing on the Phone ("Intercom History")

When you install an SR a reboot of the server is required. This
process usually causes the phone to hit the TFTP server and get the
new firmware. When you install a firmware patch no server reboot is
necessary, so the phone never unregisters, and thus never hits the
TFTP server for the new firmware.

It seems weird that you need to do that with a firmware only upgrade,
but the one contained within the Call Manager SR (SR6 for example)
does not require a reboot. Does that make sense to you?

That's what I hear. Do you recall whether individual phones need to
be reset from the Call Manager when a firmware patch is installed? I
know when I went from v.7X to v.8.2.1 last year this was the case.

The 8.3(4) load that was just released should have the fix for
CSCsk99117.

FYI to the group: the "Intercom History" issue is a "known
bug" (CSCsk99117) and TAC anticipates that that the next firmware
update will correct this issue.

on the Phone ("Intercom History")
When I upgraded from Call Manager 4.1(3) to 4.1(6), our directory
listings changed to include "Intercom History" which we don't really
want to see, because it now is sandwiched between "Placed Calls" and
"Corporate Directory" which our internal customers actually use. Is
there any way to eliminate this or place it in a different order?
Thank you!
