1. Recovery disk is your best bet IMO. Other than that rebuild and
restore from backup.
2. If you can boot to the older version at all you can take a backup
and restore to 5.0(2). I believe the restore requires a rebuild of
the sub anyway so 5.0(2) media would be required.
3. Unfortunately no.

You should also get off of 5.0(4) as the number of bugs fixed past
that version is quite staggering.

Hi all,
in a 5.04 cluster, the publisher cannot boot:
checking file system failed

an error occurred during file system check. Dropping you to a shell.

I reboot but it fails again at the same point.

1.Can i do something to rebuilt the publisher via CLI?
2. i have an older version in the inactive partition (5.0(2)).
Would it be a problem if i tried to restore it since the subscriber
is 5.0(4)?
3. If all that fails, can i make my subscriber a publisher and
rebuilt the other server as subscriber?

Thanks
Anthony
