[cisco-voip] Call Recording on a VG224 - Analog Phone to AnalogPhone

Hello,

I thought of this, but how do I force analog phones on a VG224 to use an
MTP? There appears to be no option for this.

Because these calls are very few, my plan at this point is to force
calls from an analog extension to an analog extension to use the PRI on
the voice gateway instead. I'm monitoring it as well anyway.

Thanks,

James

James,

if you force the analog phones on the vg224 to make use of an MTP, you
can force the rtp stream out of the vg224.

it is a very nasty way of configuring your phones, however i see no
other quick solution.

I know of no way to make this automatic with the vg224 when the call rtp
never leaves the chassis.

Only three things I can think of here:

1. Ask the user to conference in an ip phone so it can be
recorded.

2. Unity live record might be used.

3. See if your recording vendor can supply a hybrid solution that
will also accommodate analog voice.

Hello,

I have a VG224 with several analog phones configured for SCCP. I am
using a VoIP recording solution where the packets are dumped into an
RSPAN session and ultimately have a SPAN session going to a sniffer port
on the recording server. This works great for most calls, but it would
seem that when one analog phone calls another analog phone, this RTP
stream never hits the switch, and thus is never dumped into the RSPAN
session. Has anyone had success using a VoIP recording solution with a
VG224 in this situation?

Thanks,

James Buchanan
