Raj,
If your PBX provides answer supervision signaling, a big if,
you will see a momentary reversal of polarity on the line at
the time of answer. This is trivial to determine, just put
a volt meter across the line and make a call. When the called
party answers you will either see a brief but very obvious
fluctuation in the reading seen on the volt meter or you will
see absolutely no change.
