[cisco-voip] VMWare

If you go to cisco.com and search for "server solutions" in the search box (enter it with the quotes around it), the first two results will be HP and IBM server solutions. Pick whichever brand you prefer, and it will list the supported server models with their EXACT specs. These aren't rough guidelines that you can "fudge" on - you need to be EXACT with these specs or as a rule the software will not install AND more importantly cisco will not support it.

Can you buy Callmanager for anything other than their approved servers? Yes I understand that is not recommended. I am just curious... like a blade server maybe.

Your problem will be with licensing. Cisco will not provide you a license file for a system with a VMWare mac address.

   All:

I'm curious about the legality of running Callmanager in a production environment on VMware.

1) Is it legal if you have a license for Callmanager?

2) Is Callmanager crippled in anyway when installed on VMware?

I know that Cisco will not provide support for it, but I'm OK with that.

Thanks!
