I'm dating myself a little, but we used to call people that make statements like these "twelve o'clock flashers".
EXPLANATION: if you would have gone to their house back in the day of VCRs, invariably the clock on their VCR would be flashing 12:00 - i.e. they were completely inept at working with the simplest technology.

This Post is just to interject a little IT humor in the group. When an end user calls with a vague request "The Faxes are down"... what do you guys call that....
We refer to them as B.S.O.D. Blanket Statements of Disaster. they include but are not limited to:
I can't dial ...
The Phones are broken...
I can't print anthing....
I think the system is down....
and my personal favorite
The Internet is down...which I usually reply with "The WHOLE Internet, relax...I got it at home, I will back it up and bring it in"
so what do you guys call those?
