Hello,
1. Only end users are integrated. Application Users are not. However,
if you are using IPCC, you will need an end user for IPCC administration,
which means you would need an AD account. You can use a person for this if
you are desiring to use multilevel admin.
2. The user ID and password are imported from AD. You have a choice of
what defines the user ID on the CallManager side. You can make the telephone
number in AD be the user ID in CallManager. This can cause problems with
CUPS, so I would be hesitant to do it this way.
3. The PIN will need to be configured in CUCM. This should be
configured in the Default Credentials so that you know what it is.
4. You can rollback. If you remove the LDAP stuff after you create it,
then CallManager will run its automatic cleanup at some point (the time of
which I do not remember).
5. No problem with the ICD extension with this. There will be an
option on the End User page to enable an IPCC Extension once IPCC is
installed.
6. No configuration on AD. However, you will need a user that has LDAP
browsing privileges. Also, you can only grab five contexts for import.
Thanks,
James

Subject: [cisco-voip] CUCM 6.1 and AD integration !!!
hi guys..
we need to integrate CUCM 6.1 and microsoft AD..
we had some painfull experience in 4.x versions..
so we're just cautious..beacuse we need to do it in system with 1400
users..and we don't want re-install anything..
:-)..
so, the question is, is it really that harmless as it is decribed..
can someone look bellow in the list of potential questions..
1. no application users and system users are integrated, just end-users
2. userid and password are imported from AD
3. PIN needs to be configured on CUCM
4. can we rollback to cisco corporate direcory - cisco LDAP afterwords
5. what about ICD extension option which was the problem ( we needed to use
AD tools to enable it - before in 4.x )
6. do we need to configure anything on AD itself ( schema edit etc. )
thanx..
regards..
