[cisco-voip] Adding uccx server to a domain

It is due to a customer concern, if it was up to me there is no question, wish UCCX would move to a Linux based platform ...

I also posted on the CCBU alias (ask-icd-ivr-pm at external.cisco.com) and the answer was:

>
> UCCX can run in the server that is part of the MS domain but the server can't be part
> of the MS domain while you are installing UCCX.

Guess there is no official constraint on it, but as soon as something happens, and it will be narrowed down to an AD thing, the server will have to be removed from AD. And perhaps reinstalled (to remove some domain policies which were downloaded).

And then there is the upgrade scenario, which will require the AD remove as well.

Thanks for the help guys, appreciated.

#1 I don't think the why is very important to anyone but Avner. I would bet he is working on a customer and they have some network admin that won't let it on his network unless it is part of the domain. At this point Avner needs some sort of Cisco official reason why it can not be.

#2 I also don't think TAC would support you. In some of the Call Manager install guides it says not to join it to the windows domain, UCCX uses the "same" cisco OS so you may be able to find something in there.
