John,
Thanks for your input. I have question though. Do you have any advice for Click 2 Call? When I download that and try to install, it doesn’t even create any folders like it should in windows.
I verified that webdialer service was working, I created the necessary registry entries as stated in the setup instructions, and ran the installer file, it did not create the application folder under the user profile, application data, cisco…
The thing that frustrates me is that it works so well on my laptop, but on my desktop it’s crap.
Unless anyone has any grand thoughts, I think I’ll wipe my desktop and start again tomorrow.
Oh well.
Thanks everybody…
This time, I’ll document each program installation and windows updates, etc. Then if I find that it stops working after a particular install, I’ll email the group with info. There’s one way to learn…trial by fire.

From my experience, the Cisco TSP is very unreliable when installing on Windows.
I experienced the same issues that you are seeing, not working, reinstalling, rebooting, etc…
It seems to install fine on some Windows XP machines and others I never got it to work.
Gave up on Cisco TSP and went with Cisco Click to Call.
I just didn’t have faith in Cisco TSP for a large deployment.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Guessing you cant rebuild the machine, or try it on another one?

I have rebooted many times throughout the install, remove, reinstall process.
But I cannot get to configuration at all, even after reboot (which coincidentally is the only way I can restart the telephony service). I cannot restart that service manually inside windows.

Did you reboot after installing the TSP? You need to reboot both after installation and after configuration for it to work properly.

I installed TAPI application from Julmar – I can dial via my Modem, but I do not see any Cisco devices.
Thank you for your help with this.

But do you even seen them listed in the applications I mentioned below? If you do, that means the TSP is working but there is just some GUI issue. If you cannot, then the TSP is not working at all
Also, have you tried reinstalling it from the CUCM? It should install over the top and retain the previous settings

I can control my modem via the Outlook Call menu item. I just can’t select the Cisco IP phone or softphone application as my outbound line.

Is the TSP itself actually working though – can you control devices via Microsoft Phone Dialer or TAPI Softphone from Julmar.com?

The service is started. I can configure other telephony services provider there; just not the Cisco TSP item.
I have even tried to copy the registry settings and file folder in program folders for this program, but I still cannot configure it nor does it work.
Thanks,
Brandon

Also – make sure the “telephony” service in Windows is started?

Maybe a windows user-rights issue?

Subject: [cisco-voip] Installing Cisco TSP Driver
Hello all – I’m new to the list and administration of a CCM.
I am running Windows XP SP3. I did a fresh installation of windows and installed:
Office 2007 SP1
IE7
Adobe
Other Miscellaneous Programs (should have no effect on telephony).
Then I installed Cisco TSP and Cisco IP Communicator.
At first, the Cisco TSP was working, I could dial from Outlook. Now, however, I cannot.
I can see the Cisco TSP in Phone & Modem settings, but the configure button is grayed out.
I have tried uninstall and reinstall with no luck.
IP communicator is working fine.
It is not a server issue; both programs run fine from another machine.
Does anyone have any suggestions or even a starting point? All troubleshooting advice I find advises to open the program and set the Trace level higher, but I cannot get that far.
Any help is appreciated!
Thank you,
Brandon
