[cisco-voip] cisco-voip Digest, Vol 61, Issue 33

It's 4.1(3)sr5d.
When the phone DN doesn't have CFNA, and dial 4001, then, I just hear
reorder tone. It seems that the route pattern doesn't get hit at all.
The gateway shows nothing for Q931 debug.
When the phone DN has CFNA, it goes to VM.

James.

Was this 4.x or 6.x? If it's 4.x then the call will route to the CFNA
destination when the device is unregistered (unless it's 4.2 which I
believe
has cfur). If 6.x then it will follow cfur.

Ryan,

I tested this srst call preserve but the call goes to voicemail and
doesn't
hit the 4XXX route pattern. Seems like I'm missing something else?

In 4.x did you use CFNA to get the call to hit the route pattern or just
use
it as a less-specific match? Even in 4.x when a DN is unregistered it
still
stays in DA, which should mean it's always matched, and if there is an
intercept for the DN the call will route using that intercept.

these are not good news for 6.1 users but they are news..

:-)..

btw..

it definetely works in 4.X..

In 7.x you can use local route groups to work around this issue but
until
then you are correct that all the calls to the site in SRST will be
routed
via a single route pattern. Honestly this should not have worked in
4.x
either.

the point is that call forward unregistered in this scenario would
require
all remote offices to use WAN resources and central office gateways ( or
any
other resources to make those calls )..

which isn't optimized solution..

thanx..

hi..

but in that case if we choose for example HQ calling search space to
catch
that DID number or any other it would make sense for HQ office..

but if another branch office which is registred to CUCM and it's not in
SRST
wants to make call to BR which is in SRST, it wouldn't use appropriate
CSS..

so it wouldn't choose it's local gateway etc..

What about just setting the CFUR (call forward unregistered) value for
your
phones to their DID?

hi group..

well, i suppose somebody would say RTFM, but maybe somebody has a quick
fix
for this one..

:-)..

in CCM4.X we provided preservation of 4-digit dialing between extension
in
HQ office and extension in BR office in the case of WAN failurure by
creating route pattern with for example 4XXX and pointing out to the
route
list which transforms 4XXX into the full PSTN number of the extesnion in
the
BR office..

when WAN goes down, SRST in BR is active, CCM doesn't see BR phone
registred and it matches 4XXX route pattern..so the 4 digit dialing in
SRST
works ( HQ to BR )..

in 6.X it doesn't seem to work..so what's the solution for 6.X ( maybe
5.X )
to provide that functionality..

obviosly, dial architecture changed in this case also..

any hints?..

thanx..

reagards..
