[cisco-voip] Will Unity Unified Messaging (With Exchange 2003) version 4.0.1 install on OS2003?

I assume from 4.0(3)SR1 to 4.2(1) I will need to get a new license.lic
file? Or will the the 4.2(1) import/upgrade or use the old .lic file?

I plan to have the new 4.2(1) Unity server have a different ip address,
different port extension, different MWI , then do the DiRT restore to
get callhandlers and recorded names, etc.

Will dirt put back my MWI on/off extension, etc? Maybe I should make
changes after the DiRT restore?

I'm wondering how well DiRT handles errors or does it care? I watched
the video, seems pretty smart about backing up Registry entries by not
Restoring them blind, etc.

Do not proceed with the below.

Here's what I recommend:

Upgrade system to Unity 4.2(1)

Backup.

Install 4.2.1 on new Win2k3 box.

Restore data using DRT (it really works...)

Upgrade to 5.

I have done the above about 8 times, sometimes a few mailboxes don't
like to import... just manually use Exmerge and bring em back in...

I prefer to always build new Unity servers and then change the CCMAdmin
Voicemail Profile...let end users go thru Enrollment again....DIRT makes
me nervous, probably my lack of ever having to restore data with it.....

I recall Uniyt 4.0.5 the customer could provide the OS 2003 media....any
flays in my game plan below?

Old Servers Backup existing Unity 4.0.3SR1 with DIRT

New Servers Install Windows 2003 OS

New Servers Install Unity version 4.0.(3) SR 1 on new server

New Server Install Unity upgrades and patches necessary on new server

New Servers Restore the Cisco Unity data by using the Disaster Recovery
Backup tool (DiRT) from step 1

Perform Cisco Unity upgrade on the new servers from version 4.0(3) to
version 5.0(1)
