That depends on the telco. They can deliver a tollfree call the same as any
local numbers across a direct trunk to the LD provider, sending direct
digits however many digits you specify to them. Or the smaller ones
get the tollfree call mapped to one of your local numbers to route
appropriately.

AT&T has delivered me 1-877 numbers across a PRI trunk directly. I
would do DID call routing same as anything off the called-number digits.

Or, smaller LECs that I have obtained 1-877 numbers through have it
delivered to one of my local-number blocks instead, so I eat up one or
several of my local DIDs.
