Just finished booking my trip to CIPTUG 2008 and I happened to notice that:
1) The conference hotel is about an hour's drive to the Kennedy Space Center.
2) There is a Space Shuttle launch scheduled for Wednesday, November
12th at 8:43pm (Of course, schedules do change - this launch was
previously scheduled for the 10th).
3) That night is listed as a "free night" on the conference schedule
(I'd be going anyway, but not missing anything at the conference is a
bonus).
4) I'll have a rental car available to me that week.
So, unless there are some drastic changes in the scheduling of the
launch, I plan on heading over to see the launch. I'm not taking
"reservations" right now for the open seats in my rental car - there's
a lot of time between now and then and I'd probably just lose your
email between now and then. I figure if there's enough interest we
can come up with enough rides for everyone.
Anyway, keep that in mind and check out:

"You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then
I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the
terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve
them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and
unfairness of the universe."
