[cisco-voip] Unity Connection 1.2 Upgrade to 2.1 or 7.x

I think the move to Linux is mainly to allow for more of an "appliance" model. Having to maintain Windows on top of the applications can be a bit of a burden, both for Cisco having to test each hotfix and clients having to apply the patches. I'm sure there are other advantages to a linux platform vs Windows.
If you check out the release notes and comparison pages you will see that Connection is getting there, if not already there on most of the features. For those shops that are Microsoft rich and have the resources and requirements for unified communications, they'll probably stick with Unity.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Unity Connection 1.2 Upgrade to 2.1 or 7.x
First of all – why is the upgrade for Unity Connection from Windows Server to Linux – what was the reasoning for the change?
Secondly – is there a table someone showing the added features between the three versions?
Thanks to a bug I may need to upgrade but changing out the OS first doesn’t seem like much fun so I would like to see what advantages the upgrades have before I decide to deal with the bug for now or push ahead to upgrade.
Thanks,
Tammie
