This can be done without CUPS, but you will require something to replace
that functionality.  Genesys GETS is another product that can do this.
CallManager cannot talk CSTA directly, which is where CUPS comes into
play.

 

You can configure OCS software/devices to place calls to and from Cisco
devices without CUPS however.  But in order to control the phones
(Remote Call Control), you need CUPS or GETS or another vendor product.

 

CUPS requires 1 DLU per user for presence enabled in CUPS 6.0 and later.
