[cisco-voip] Phone Designer -- 64 bit

Would be nice wouldn't it? Almost every computer off the shelf at Best Buy is 64 bit now, it's been around for several years and it took a while but 64 bit is mainstream now they need to get with it. What really surprises me is they didn't use Java for the app, that would in most cases work on x64 seamlessly, instead they used Microsoft .Net which is built to support x64 if a developer so chooses but they decide to just compile an x86 version. I just don't get it

Subject: [cisco-voip] Phone Designer -- 64 bit

So I now have this great little 64-bit machine with vista 64-bit OS. I've loaded all my apps and thus far, things look good.

so I load Phone Designer but get an error message. So I Look at the release notes / read me and i don't find anything related to not supporting 64 bit OS. (maybe I'm not seeing it)

so I open a TAC case and I get this back from the TAC engineer:

"According to our developers, they do not plan on supporting the 64 bit in the future however this may change based on technology design changes in the future. "

<rant>
It would be nice if cisco put somewhere, that 64 bit is not supported..... and what's up with that? the industry is moving from 32 bit to 64 bit but cisco doesn't want to support it?
</rant>
