[cisco-voip] Remote Building Connectivity and Voice Stability

Since you have a T1 now I assume that 1.5 Mbs is sufficient bandwidth for voice and data. Depending on the distance between the buildings an 802.11a (5.8 GHz) might be a good solution. We have used Tranzeo CPE-900 panels for up to 5 miles with good line of sight. They're about $370 each and they offer a model with a N-connector for a high gain directional antenna. I haven't had an experience with the 1310, but as long as you have external antenna option, or a built in high gain antenna (12db or better) then up to a couple of miles with perfect line of sight should be no problem. For some extra insurance we knock down the speed to 1 or 5 Mb/s as this will sustain rain fade and heavy humidity better than trying to get the full 54/108 Mb/s. Don't forget about security.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Remote Building Connectivity and Voice Stability

All Here is my scenario, we have client's campus where one building is separated via a public road from the rest of the campus. They have about 20 phones and a similar number of PCs and rely on the PRI on the core campus for all but 911. For the past several years since CCM went live we've had a t-1 for connectivity between the 2 sites, we are looking at moving to Wireless (1310 Bridges or ???) but are worried about stability. Has anyone done this, have any recommendations? Unfortunately dealing with the County to get a conduit under the street for fiber is not an option.
Thanks in advance!
