Hi Lelio

We have just migrated from 4.2.3 to 6.1, so bit frustrated that we will
eventually have to purchase new hardware etc

How did you know that this was happening before this announcement? is
this secret Partner information? ;-)

Was anyone else aware that this was happening before this EoS/EoL
announcment? I certainly didnt when I researched...

Cheers

Sam

i'm thinking this is in preparation for new hardware and consequently new
ibm/hp specs for the 7845 equiv servers.

there was talk about this happening for fall of this year....this looks
like it might actually be happening.

gone?

My guess is that the push is more for UCM7.1 than Cisco hardware -
there are a very limited number of partners that can sell the new
servers at the moment and I don't see Cisco wanting to limit their
sales of UCM because only 5-10 partners can sell the servers.

More likely there will be a UCM7.1 version of the appliance soon and
this is a good way for Cisco to ensure that new installs start on the
version they want them to be at and that they don't have partners
still selling UCM6.1 past October.
