[cisco-voip] Unity 7 question

I have two Unity servers one 4.x and the other is 7.

They use the same exchange server and mail boxes. I am migrating users
to 7, and the way that I am/have been doing it is to remake the user in
the new box. I would use COBRAS to do this, but there are issues on how
the old box is setup with default operators etc.. So creating new users,
handlers etc. is the better way to go, but I have ran into a small
issue. Unity 7 is picking up all the voice messages again and marking
them as new, even thou exchange still marks them as unread. The only way
I have seen to fix this is to go into the users vm via the phone and
delete them, or mark them as read. Is there a better way ?
