This doc covers the official policy on installing MS patches and the
use of Windows Update:

Windows update is fair game as long as it set to require manual
approval of patches.
If you can fit it in to your patching process, the Server Update
Wizard is a great option, as it will also update your standalone CSA
client and, in the near future, will likely include Unity patches as
well.
