Typo in step 3, the inbound dial peer is pots since you are getting the call from PSTN.

  For H323 Gateway:

  1. Find out how many digits the PSTN is sending to you
  2. Create translation profile on your h323 gateway to modify the incoming called number to your requirment which is 3 digits in your case.
  3. Create inbound voip dial peer on gateway
  4. match the inbound call on the dial-peer
  5. apply your translation profile so the number gets stripped to 3 digits on your gateway
  6. the voip dial-peer will send the call leg to call manager along with mofidied called number of 3 digits
  7. if your dial-peer has stripped the call to 301, the call manager will match 301 and your phone will ring. You need to have a phone with 301 DN and the h323 gateway configured in your CUCM for this to work.

On the gateway configuration page in CUCM:

Call Routing Information - Inbound Calls

    Significant Digits* = 3

I believe you'll have to use the "PLAR" config on IOS to get this to work....I'll leave it to the list to supply a better solution....

    Antonio:

Without knowing the full infrastructure - the simple answer is creating a dail-peer to allow the DID functionality on the gateway such as:

    dial-peer voice 1 pots

    direct-inward-dial

    incoming called-number .
