our local utility service provider offered up remote controlled thermostats, which sound goods in principle. they'll "only" reduce the temperature in your house by no more than two degrees no more than two times a month.

"hello. PG&E? it's cold in my house"

"sorry maam, you didn't read your end user license. we are allowed to make a mistake by an order of magnitude"

every hear the Verizon math lesson?

I still think you have two years before SmartMeters and the APIs become standardized. Needs to be IETF RFCs and not each vendor doing their own thing….also needs a good trust model/pki maybe…you can use CRL to revoke SkyNet’s certificates?

Hi everyone,

What is the word on the street about Cisco’s new software product called EnergyWise? The product really sounds interesting in the articles that I have read.
