"pkg" is the name of the package, i just guessed at iptables and it gave me:

admin:show packages active iptables
Active Side Package(s): for iptables package(s)

if you do the google, it gives you Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.

case closed. pipe smoked.

I couldn’t get that command to give output on 7.0(1). Seems it wants show packages active pkg, but that doesn’t give any output either….

However another thought is you see when installing updates they are .rpm files. I started to type RPM was only for RedHat but I see other distros are using .rpm as well.

i bet 'show packages active' command at CLI would help to figure this out.

Just wondering if Cisco publicly says what their system 7 appliance is based on?

Is it RedHat?
