Something to consider (not sure if it's possible) is to create a new LDAP directory that imports the data from others, consolidating the data and then pointing to that one. You would definitely need to work with your directory folks on that.

'design around' means point to a higher OU. For example dc=cisco,dc=com rather than ou=employees,dc=cisco,dc=com
after that you need to keep the user count below the ~40k sync limit. You many need to set customer user attributes and apply an additional user filter on CM.
