That should be fine provided your CommServer folder is on D. The current Unity OS discs partition very similar if not a little bit smaller

How much space does it require? Our C drive is 12 gigs, I think and the D drive is 62 gigs.

my users didn't notice the move from 4 to 5 but keep in mind that if your Unity is setup with the 8 gig c partition like unity 4 required, you will be doing a reinstall as the partition size requires more HD space. (found out the hard way)

Almost no difference between 5.x and 7.x . In fact when you get the license files they will say 5.x in them.
