[cisco-voip] Register MGCP gateway without E1/T1/FXO

What you are trying to do isn't testing calls through the MGCP  
gateway, it's just IP routing for calls between IP phones.

In order to use the gateway you need a pstn-type interface (analog or  
digital).  Even if calls between IP phones are routing through the  
2851 it's not acting as an MGCP gateway but as a router.

With H.323 you could register the WAN phones to the 2851 using CME  
and then send the calls to CUCM that way but MGCP requires a  
telephony interface to control.

The gateway itself doesn't actually register with CUCM, the endpoints
do.  If you have no endpoints for MGCP to control then what do you
wish to do with the gateway?

        I work on BIB recording these days, the sip trunk can receive
2 invite
messages from ccm, but I can't get the farend DN from the ?from
header? of
the SIP INVITE message. In my test, I make a call from 8006 to 8009
(which
is configed to record automaticly), when the call is setup, the DN in
the
from header of the two SIP INVITE message are all 8009, how can I
know who
calls 8009?

That is indeed the case. You have to buy the IP Communicator client plus
the DLUs.

we were told we had to pay for each client and then the DLU for when

I have two CM clusters version 7.0 I need to have both users on each
cluster
to see other cluster users using Corporate directory and be able to
search
for them and dial them...how it is possible to do so??
I have think of adding on cluster A users of cluster B as normal
users and
assign them DNs that correspond to the way Cluster A calls cluster
B...but
this will be double work and extra headech...is there a way to
integrate the
two LDAP directories?

Thanks.. I am afraid thought that I tried to look everywhere but
don't know
which parameter is the correct one. Here is what I changed and is now
configured on the CCM7 server:

_Service Parameter Configuration
    |___Clusterwide Parameters (System - Location and Region)
    |___G722 Codec Enabled  => Enabled for All Devices
    |___iLBC Codec Enabled  =>  Enabled for All Devices
    |___Intraregion Audio Codec Default   =>    G711/G722
    |___Interregion Audio Codec Default   =>   G711/G722

Of course the above changed the Region codec configuration to also be
g711/g722

I restarted the CCM server too. But the outgoing calls to the other
CCM4 ACD
is still giving salience. So I am either not changing the right
configuration parameter or this is not the reason for the problem
altogether.

Any ideas?

I don't know much about it - I would check the codecs though - make sure
calls from your CM7 are g711

FYI - G711 "Used" to be the default, but it changed with CM7 to being
g729,
so I'd change it to G711 and try again

Hi,

We have IP phones registered on CUCM 7.0.1. There is an ACD system
installed
on another CCM cluster version 4.3.2. The current configuration is
simply
some Routepoints associated to a TAPI user and some CTI ports also
associated with the same user to enable wave playback. The ACD system is
functioning perfectly and answers incoming on-net and off-net calls
successfully.

However, when any of the phones registered to CUCM 7 tries to call
the ACD
system numbers via (DID) that is, the call is established for a brief
period
in which nothing is played back to the caller and then the call
disconnects
on its own. By the way both of the clusters are on the same LAN with no
intercluster trunks.

I hope someone can unfold this mystery for me.
