[cisco-voip] E-911 setup ERL information

You got it right, but it's who you send that exported information to that is in question. And there's the missing link that ties what you export to the PSALI service.

CUCM -> CER -> EXPORT -> IMPORT <- PSALI Service -> UPLOAD to PSAP

So, let's say my service provider is Telus. I buy PSALI service from them. I then configure my CER to export data in a way that Telus understands. I then import that file into the PSALI service from Telus and press "go". That updates the databases that the PSAP screens dip into.

If I am wrong please let me know. Lots of acronyms flying around.

Be very careful. Again, Canada is different. But DIDs have no ALI information by default. You'll have to test this out.

I don’t think I need this PSALI you are talking about. I just need to send a different DID number outbound for each ERL.

As far as I know, E911 information is given to the Telco, not the PSAP. The PSAP rarely wants to hear from you. Even testing is getting to be a bit of an issue in metropolitan areas.

You have to get a PSALI type service from your provider. This costs money and allows you to update the records for the DIDs you have purchased. In Canada anyways.

CUCM 7.x with Emergency Responder 7.x. I have all of the translations and locations setup working correctly. My problem is with the local PSAP operator. The place I am setting up is a large campus but the local Telco did not offer PRI’s or CAMA trunks before this installation. This customer has enough clout locally to get the Telco to get the equipment so they can have PRI’s because they wanted to implement E-911 to the police even though there is no law requiring it yet. Now when I try to export my location information the local PSAP administrator does not know what to do with it. He states that all of that is handled by AT&T at the MSAG. I don’t know what MSAG is but it sounds like that is where I need to go. Does anyone know of a standard way to export the information that AT&T would accept. I think I have hit a brick wall locally.
