I would not try to bypass the Cisco interface.

That's not what I meant, I meant as in the bare CLI command 'sudo shutdown
-h now'

It appears that you're *required* to send messages to the shutdown command
through Cisco's SELinux setup instead of directly executing it. Can you even
send switches to the shutdown command through 'utils system shutdown?"

First things first, do CUCM 7 boxes even give you access to the shutdown
command?

Has anyone wrote a script to shutdown a server using UPS
software? My UPS software can run a script file when the battery gets low
but I
need to script the commands to shutdown the CUCM 7.x and Unity connection
7.x .
