Neil,

My apologies. I see now that the media from PUT is required for the
path you are seeking to travel (6.x to 7.x).

I found something similar to what is happening to you referenced in bug
CSCta43460.

Not trying to load on an MCS 7825-I2 by any chance are you?

Regards,

John

Hi Ryan,

See below, these are the logs from the last few seconds of the install..
I'm not sure at which point it fails though but maybe you can decipher
this better than I can!

I wonder do I need some sort of ES for my particular version, maybe I'll
TAC it in the morning.

Thanks,

Neil

License is for after the upgrade.

Can you pull any of the install logs from the active and inactive
partitions? There should be a more specific failure cause in there.

Actually - I wonder if it has anything to do with the upgrade license
file?? Do you apply the license before or after the upgade. I have the
upgrade license but I'm waiting for temp upgrade licenses because it's a
lab scenario.

Thanks Guys, but I have the genuine DVD media from Cisco. It didn't
work directly from the DVD so I created the upgrade ISO from the DVD. I
don't know if creating the ISO is the right way but the DVD media should
work?

I didn't check the MD5 hash but I suspect it will be ok.

have you also checked the MD5 hash to make sure it's a correct ISO file?

you want to create a DVD with the ISO file on it as an accessible file
as far as I know.

Hey,

I haven't logged a TAC case for this yet as I thought I might be doing
something silly.

I'm upgrading Call manager from 6.1(2) to 7.0(2a) in a lab environment
prior to carrying it out on our production environment.

I tried running the upgrade via the DVD and about 45 mins into the
installation I get "Error encountered: An unknown error occurred while
accessing the upgrade file."

So I thought it might be the DVD so I created an ISO of the DVD on my
laptop and ran the upgrade via FTP which results in the same error.

Am I missing something??

Not a lot of info I know, but I can attach the install log if required?

Thanks in advance,

Neil
