My VAR related this to me the other day (we are 4.1x shop):
I can tell you that there are MANY MANY 4.x installations still out there.
Some have said they will go it alone beyond 2011 without support. Others,
after having been quoted rates for upgrading to 7, have sworn they will look
at competitor offerings. Cisco has a real chance here to make a lot of
people very happy by making a transition to 7.x
I am one of those that was horrified to see what going to 7 would entail. I
am not sure where to go from here, we are very happy with 4.1(3)
