[cisco-voip] Call Forwarding

another FYI:

the phone itself, i.e. firmware, does not support forwarding from secondary lines, as such, while you can use external tools to forward secondary lines, the phone does not display this information.

so, not only is the functionality missing, the user feedback is missing as well.

i was speaking with one third party provider that was interested in providing a workaround such that when a phone line was forwarded, it would change the line text label to include (FWD) or something like that. not sure how good that would work.

We have a home grown CUAE app for this.

The funny part is CME supports changing CFA on non-prime lines as far as I know.

No - we don't allow them to log into Call Manager yet.

They don’t have to call you. They can do it in the user page.

That is the way the ring tones work.

Actually I didn't really think the upgrade would change it. I just think it is crazy that we can only call forward the top button. Sort of embarrassing when going from an antique Centrex system to our new high tech VoIP phones and you lose such an important feature. So, they have to call me to request line to be call forwarded!

I guess I just meant that even in the latest version they have not changed that feature.

Also another pet peave - when choosing rings - default has about 29 choices - all other have 7 choices!

Why= Because that is the way it works. Why did you think an upgrade would change that? Is it in the release notes that on version 7.1 you can CF a different line then the primary?

We upgraded to CUCM 7.1. We still cannot call forward any line except the top button on the phone - why??? This is a nuisance.

We have secretaries who manage many lines on their phones and they need to call forward multiple lines.
