[cisco-voip] too many MWI ports?

MWI refresh and broadcast messages are the primary triggers I know of.
Reducing the number of ports will not matter if you increase delay and
concurrent calls. though with that combination fewer ports will be used
for MWI so you might as well re-allocate them to answering calls.
