[cisco-voip] DMA and upgrade at the same time?

I won't have a USB file, just DMA files. From what I'm reading, the USB is just for config, I don't need that.

Sounds a bit hokey - timing the insert of a key in order to make it work!

Yes, I had media for 7.0 and download of 7.1 (which is non-bootable).
What you need to watch out for is to upgrade first. If you have the USB
key with the xml file plugged in, the installation is started right away
and you don't get the upgrade option. To avoid that, start the boot up
normally without the USB key plugged in, answer the question about the
upgrade and let it ask for the upgrade file location and start the
upgrade process. Once its in middle of upgrade or it starts to reboot
for the upgrade to take effect, plug in the USB with xml file and your
installation will start.
