Update for those interested, had this from my SE this morning. Note I
don't have a link to an official document yet on CCO, if I see one
i'll post it:
Support has been announced for AD2008R2 with Unity 7.0 (ES 33 or
greater) and Unity 8.0 (production version).
Details:
1. CSCsz20178: Mailbox logons fail in Windows 2008 based domain. This
defect still exists for Windows 2008 R2 based domains. Workaround in
the defect should be applied.
2.KB Article 977180 must be completed before Unity will be fully
functional with AD2008 R2. This is a hotfix that has to be requested
from Microsoft. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977180 for
details.
3. The new Recycle Bin feature in AD2008 R2 has some negative side
effects on Cisco Unity objects.
The new Recycle Bin feature of AD2008 R2 allows AD objects that have
been accidently deleted to be restored with all the same properties
they had before they were deleted. This restoration of objects can
create a problem in Cisco Unity. For example, let’s take a Cisco Unity
subscriber. If the Cisco Unity subscriber object was deleted out of
AD, Unity will clean up after itself and delete the subscriber from
the local system. The problem comes when the subscriber object is then
restored to AD. This object still contains all Cisco Unity properties,
but it does not get synched back into the local Cisco Unity server as
a subscriber because as far as Unity is concerned, it deleted this
user. To work around this issue, the Remove Subscriber Properties tool
from www.ciscounitytools.com can be used to remove all the AD
properties and the subscriber can be re-imported back into
Unity. After which, a reboot is required. Unfortunately this does mean
that all Unity settings will be lost for this subscriber. However, the
mailbox does stay intact.
