[cisco-voip] some EOLs...

The VG devices are basically specialized routers with FXS ports, and run IOS.

The VG can do MGCP, SCCP, (I presume) H.323, T.38, etc, and I believe have more capable ports (full POTS power, I believe the VGs can power a public phone, whereas I believe and ATA cannot).

ATAs on the other hand are focused on just providing analog voice connectivity.

I'm guessing price point. The VG202 is about 5x the cost of an ATA186.

There must be some additional features on the VG202 that don't come on the ATA line. Redundant uplinks is just one. Perhaps loop length is another. VG202 can do 3000 feet. Not sure if an ATA can.

Any idea what the technical differences will be between the ATA-187 and the VG202? Why maintain two products that look like they do the same thing?
