Interesting information. According to this message and the associated
URL, UCM 8.0(2) is ONLY supported on VMware ESXi 4.0. MCS servers are
supported in "Bridged upgrade" which means you can upgrade to it then
run DRS backup and restore to a 8.0(2) VMware installation.
The document "Tech tip: Move current CUCM to VMware", was updated Apr
30, 2010 by QD Wang.

At the moment, Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.0(2) is supported
on VMware ESXi 4.0 over Cisco UCS B200M1 and UCS-B200M1-VCS1 servers.
All other CUCM versions like 6.X, 7.X, 8.0(1) or servers are not
supported on VMware.
For more detailed support information, please refer *Table 1.* Supported
Hypervisors by Server

If the customers wants to move their current CUCM 6.X or 7.X to VMware,
they can 1. Upgrade their CUCM to version 8.0(2) on the current MCS
servers. Although CUCM 8.0(2) is not supported on MCS servers, it does
support "bridged upgrade" to migrate to newer hardware.
2. Make a backup of your software configuration via the Disaster
Recovery System utility
3. Install the Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.0(2) on VMware
virtual machine.
4. Restore your software configuration from DRS backup.
