You can stop at 7.1(3b)SU2. Then you can go to 8.x if you want.

7.1.5 cannot upgrade to 8.0; it will be able to upgrade to 8.5 when it is released later this year. So a move to 7.1.5 right now isn't a dead end for long. And it will give you some time to normalize on the new linux release and get use to it.

So what is the road map for CM? 8.0 is out. I think I've heard of 8.5. Is Cisco going from 8.0 to 8.5 or 8.1(like they normally do)? How far down the 7.1 path will be allowed before you will not be able to upgrade to a 8.x version?

we are about ready to pull the trigger on going from 4.2 to 7.1 but don't want to close off the ability 12 months from now to upgrade to an 8.x release.

TIA

Scott
