I also "heard" that upgrade paths will concentrate on N-1 or N-2 going forward...so when v10 comes out, you can only upgrade from v9 or v8.
We'll have to see when v8 comes out, what the upgrade paths are and whether v5.1 is supported, considering it is EOL and the " End of SW Maintenance Releases Date: App. SW " date is February 13, 2010.

Last I heard CM7.x was going to be the last version to support direct upgrade from any windows release. To that end DMA is not likely to exist for CM8.x. My information may be obsolete by this time.
