Demo SW feature licenses don't survive upgrades. You need to do a fresh
install of 7.0.2 or purchase the lab SKU from Cisco for actual licenses
that will survive upgrades.

Hello,
was googling around for an answer and this thread looked sorta related
but i'm not sure.
I have a publisher loaded on Vmware server 2.0 (Lab setup) to test
upgrade from 6.1 to 7.1. Did a fresh 6.1 install and restored a recent
backup onto it from our production system, including licenses, no
problems. Upgraded to 7.1, no problems (all my test phones still
register, test CRS works, etc). However when I go to upload the 7.1
feature license I get this error:
"Installation on invalid / Obsolete hardware. License file upload not
allowed."
Is this just due to being on VMWare? I had to monkey with the vm
config file to get MAC addresses to match for licenses, perhaps that
is what causes this?
