we configured our 911 route pattern to not be urgent, then added a 911[0-9] route pattern that is denied. this gives them 10 or so seconds to hang up, but also adds a delay. this also prevents 1010 dialing which as a nice side-affect. ;)

9.911 calls go out as normal.

CDRs will tell you when a 911 call was placed but only after they have hung up and the call is completed.

you will need a third party app to trigger when 911 calls have been placed. we use Cistera. but they do more than just that. Radianta has a neat solution.

Subject: [cisco-voip] 911 Calls
All,

Lately we've been seeing more and more 911 calls go out of our building by "accident." None of our route patterns have changed lately. I'm not sure why this could be happening. A couple of questions.

1. Is there a good way to prevent this from happening? Is anyone else doing anything special to prevent this?
2. I'm trying to find a way to report on the 911 calls and am unable to find a report that will accommodate my needs. Does anyone know of reports to run for this?

Thanks,
Tim
