You are correct that you need to upgrade the phone load. I'd recommend going to the latest simply to pick up other bug fixes and features.

I’ve read the two Bug Details you posted.

Our phones have OS Load ID cnu42.8-5-2TH-9
Our Callmanager is 7.1.3.30000-1

From CSCsz35375 It seems that I could fix it by upgrading to FW 8.5.3, is this correct ?

I read somewhere else, about a FW 9.0(3). Would upgrade to this version be better?

thanks

Best regards,

There is an enhancement to disable this via phone config settings (Handset/Headset Monitor). It is dependent on phone load and CUCM version.

As the name implies, it's so supervisors can easily monitor calls via the handset/headset if the other is in use.

CSCsz35375 will show you where the feature got checked in to CUCM.

Looks like it went into a late 6.1(3)ES, 6.1(4)ES, and 6.1(5) base on 6.x. You'll also want to be aware of CSCtg89332.

I've just tried this on my 7941 and it does this as well, although I've never really noticed it before as the sound coiming out of the handset is fairly quiet.

CUCM 6.1.3.2103

Plantronics Supraplus H251/A headset.

When using headset on our Cisco 7942 phones, we can hear the conversation coming out of the handset as well.
It seems that for some reason the speaker in the handset is not muted when using headset
The headset is connected to the headset connector on the phone.

We have tried different headsets, and have just had plantronics send us some new for testing, but still have this problem.

Is this normal behavior? Or is this a setting on the phone? Or maybe something else ?

Best regards
Henrik Madsen
