I you use this method you're going to have to get your licenses changed, due the mac of the pub changing.

You can backup the pub, wipe the sub, reinstall it and then restore the pub backup to it
That's the only way I know that would have the desired net effect, if you are thinking along the lines of promoting the sub to a pub or doing anything not requiring a reinstall you are out of luck AFAIK

Is there a way to change a sub to a publisher and then remove the original publisher from the cluster with 7.1 cucm. If so can anyone point me to the documentation?
