[cisco-voip] FXO ports and registering with CCM

Negative! Abort!

Just go to the GUI location I gave you and change the entry from hostname to the IP.

You aren’t changing the hostname, just how the devices reference your CCM.

Here are the instructions I found:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/install/7_1_2/ipchange/ipchg712.html#wp42389

If I'm going from "hostname" to "IP address" do I still have to complete step 6?

________________________________

Step 6 <http://www.cisco.com/en/US/i/templates/blank.gif> On the publisher server, change the host name of the server by performing the following tasks:

a. <http://www.cisco.com/en/US/i/templates/blank.gif> Enter the CLI command set network hostname hostname.

b. <http://www.cisco.com/en/US/i/templates/blank.gif> Enter Yes and press Enter. This will automatically reboot this server with the new host name.

Very easy. But you will need to reset all the devices.

thanks Chris, et al.

I'm just going through the document.

I'm guessing changing from hostname to ip address is less daunting then changing the IP address from A to B.

Plus, I have no subscribers.

“CCMAdmin – System – Server” is the menu structure to make the change.

That is because you have your CallManagers as hostnames instead of IP addresses. You would need to change them in CallManager and reset the gateway.

ok. so that helped me get the file. i'll have to figure out what address is trying to connect without that later.

but now, after the config is downloaded, it changes the MGCP hosts from IP addresses to hostnames.

i honestly can't recall how i completed my install, but i'll have to figure out how to change from name to ip address.

Ah, okay...

Well, just in case, this router IOS command may be handy...

ip tftp source-interface interface.......
