Yes, very likely related. Most information that is copied between
nodes via ssh/sftp is retried if it fails. That was the case with CDR
in the bug you cite.
This really be triggered by any ssh session to the server such as a
user logging in via CLI.
"Write failed: Broken pipe" means the server attempted to push data to
an existing ssh session but that session had either already terminated
or the data could not be transferred successfully.

At Fri Nov 12 16:29:16 PST 2010 on node 10.200.1.10; the following
SyslogSeverityMatchFound events generated: SeverityMatch - Critical
sshd[32253]: fatal: Write failed: Broken pipe
