[cisco-voip] factory resetting a 7942 - stuck on "upgrading"

Install an older load on the tftp server, to get a default.loads file thing, which controls the version of code a phone gets with the factory reset. I would put 8.5.2 on there. I think 8.5.3 is where the certs changed.

CUCM v4.1(3) eeeek.

I had successfully downgraded the phone to 8.3.5 and was just testing out the factory reset.

I really hope it's not a brick.

I'm in the process of opening a case myself, however, my CCO account does not allow me to open a case with this device that is under warranty. Got a service contract case open right now.

I too will share any info.

I’ll be curious to hear what the solution is on this because I have two 7911s that have the exact same problem. What version of UCM are you using? I’m on 7.1.3.32900-4.

I have a TAC case open and so far the first level rep told me to do a procedure that was for 7970 phones and that left my phone with no display at all. If I get any good information from Cisco, I’ll share it.
