So you intend to expose your CUCM to the internet in order to register a SIP phone?

It would certainly be an option, but that’s a whole other layer of cost and complexity we’d like to avoid if at all possible.

How about site to site vpn? You need IP connectivity between the remote phone, ccm, and other IP phones.

Pretty simply question: is there any way/has anyone ever tried to register a standard Cisco phone over the internet to CallManager through SIP?
Basically we have one external user we’d like to get using a hardware phone, without needing to upgrade CallManager (we’re on 6.1), run it over a VPN or get one of the new phones with the built-in VPN client.
Maybe my google-fu is weak, but I’m not finding any results about doing this…
Thanks in advance!
