[cisco-voip] 7942 and 7962 have different power adapters?

The 7941 sets I have within arm’s reach also have the raised plastic around the connector. 7940 doesn’t. Old power supply doesn’t fit 7941, but new power supply fits 7940 and 7941.

The old kind had the same connector as the power supplies for wireless APs (same voltage and current), so I always just kinda assumed that they changed the connector on the phones so that people would be forced to buy two kinds of spares instead of just one.

OK, just looking at the back of the 7962 and I noticed the DC power socket has some raised plastic around it so you can not use the old power adapters which supply the exact same power requirements.

What's up?
